Becoming an Interim Manager with First Counsel

Daily Rates - a guide for interim managers

First Counsel handles roles at anything from £400 to £1000 and upwards per day to the interim manager; in other words, assignments with equivalent permanent basic salaries of c£65,000 and above per annum.

We then add our margin to these daily rates to pass on to the client. Our rates are absolutely transparent to both interim managers and clients when the contract paperwork is agreed.

Limited Companies

Most of our interim managers trade through a limited company which they have set up. If you have not already established your own company, this is not a difficult task and there are a number of businesses offering this service on the web. As most interim managers do work through a service company, they need to have adequate Professional Indemnity Insurance to protect them against professional negligence claims. We are also happy to offer general guidance on limited company set-up, PII, VAT registration and IR 35 guidelines.

The Interim Management Association has announced the launch of a new membership scheme for career Interim Managers. This distinct class of membership for individual interim managers will operate with its own entry criteria. It will offer members significant benefits of membership through the operational name of the IMA-Institute and through its own dedicated website. The purpose is to better support the professional interests of Interim Managers. The IMA-Institute is supported by all provider members of the Interim Management Association.
